Visit from the Crestwood Fire Department

Hello Southminster Family,

It has been a fun and busy month! All our new children are adjusting well. The

first few weeks had some separation anxiety, but they quickly bonded with our

amazing teachers. Our themes included Welcome To Preschool, I Am Special,

Apple Time and Safety Week. The youngest ones are learning how to share, sing

songs, paint, color, listen to stories and play together. Our older children are

doing their alphabet, phonics, and math. Miss Andrea and Miss Melanie do

such wonderful art projects and fun activities with them. We are blessed to have

them teaching here. My daughter, Miss Jennifer, is volunteering in the Teddy

Bear Room, twice a week.

The children had an exciting time at the Bike Rally on September 12th. The little ones really enjoyed the red snow ones, washing their bikes and jumping in the bubbles! The Crestwood Fire Department visited our pre-school on September 24th. The children sang two songs for them, Stop, Drop and Roll and Hurry, Hurry,

Drive The Firetruck. The firefighters enjoyed that! The children got to go inside the fire truck and the Ambulance. They also got to see the equipment and their fire outfits. They got free play fire helmets to wear.

Looking forward to a great October!

Happy Fall ~ Sharon
